“Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe” (2 Timothy 4:12 NASB) Pastor Brian Reid (srbr@otelco.net), the Youth Worship Center is just that – a place of worship for the youth. A total revamping of the Youth Services Room in remodeling the physical as well as the spiritual is an ongoing process. With the diversions of the world in today’s society, our goal is to keep our vision first and foremost on the risen Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the teachings of God’s Word, the Holy Bible, and living out the truth that lies within it. Wednesday Nights: Wednesday nights bring about deep Bible studies on any and everything that our youth faces and show how, through the Word of God, each of us can be overcomers of the challenges the world throws at us. We also incorporate yesterday’s and today’s praise and worship music, all for the glory of God. Wednesdays can often include different games and physical challenges that follow along with the weekly Bible study. It can get gross, it can get messy and it can get just plain nasty! Come prepared for everything! PLUS we have a van ministry that will pick you up and bring you home! How Youth Fit Into The Great Commission Matthew 28:19-20a says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you (NASB).” Our youth believes in sharing the word of God with everyone. Nowhere in this passage does it mention how young or old one must be in order to share the word of God. It simply says, “Go, baptize and teach.” Our youth group believes that the Great Commission is not possible by simply sitting within the four walls of the local church. Reaching out to a lost world with the Word of God is what we are commanded to do. Our plans of different mission trips and outreach programs are in the works and may include street ministry, beach trips, shelters, volunteering at nursing homes and more. It’s exciting to see young people who get excited about God in today’s world. Our prayer is that this passion will spill over into the churches, the schools and the homes of everyone. Join us for excitement, fun and a time to grow closer and closer to God! You can reach us on Facebook via The Oneonta Worship Center Youth or call/text Pastor B-
